He can't give you the name.. Because then you will find out on how much he has been lying in this post. He is changing stuff for making the guild look bad.

It's still a guild issue because the guild should not condom its own members ripping each other off. In a respectable guild like mine, that guy would have been kicked out. But in a scum guild, I guess no one cares about their members. I can only imagine how bad their teamwork in fights must be, or how hard it must be to get people to craft for their own guild members when they'd very well just keep your materials then say "tough luck, you trusted the wrong guy. Thanks for the mats. Btw, you still coming to ZG?"

If the senior leadership of the guild doesn't resolve these types of issues amongst guildies, then yeah...it becomes a guild issue. Outsiders will steer clear of a guild that sanctions this type of behavior.

Reputation (guild and player) actually means something in the non-group finder world. Piss it away at your own peril.

Criiinge at the people jumping on the hatewagon straight away. Sounds like both parties were being exceptionally dense and I personally would have removed both from my guild straight away.

+1

Both sound like players you don't want to be in your guild.

And now, for some real drama, THE STORY CONTINUES!

Kiraxx wrote:One minute after i requested the gold back, but the officer surprisingly refused to answer me both in whisper and gchat.

Uncle Py wrote:1. He's not an officer and he has never at any point been one.
2. He says you didn't request the gold back from him until the day after, and considering your recent behavior, I'm inclined to believe him over you.

I could have been wrong on this one, i only assumed he was an officer due to the entire setting, this mistake of mine does not however lessen the fact that he is still a guild member and none of the guild leadership took any action to remedy the situation.

Kiraxx wrote:At that time i decided to consult the other officers, and the guild master himself, all of which told me it was my fault and basically i can go f*** myself

Uncle Py wrote:He was told to give it back within a couple of days by the GM (as apparently some of it was already spent by that point), and you responded to that by leaving the guild immediately. Considering you tried getting him banned by lying to the GMs that he paid you for that gold, it's entirely understandable that the member in question no longer wants to return any gold at all.

I may have been a little rash, true, but that's understandable due to the situation, and solutions offered were a joke, like have some some of it now, the rest in some future time, or how about he pays you 100g each week. I did not leave the guild immediately, i left after 24 hours of trying to get some response from someone in charge, and when i finally did, several officers told me it's none of their concern as the fault is solely on my side. I have not tried to get anyone banned, nor i could achieve such a feat, if i did say something along those lines, it could have been in anger.

Chraa wrote:Reiterating what pylo said.

You know very well that the person in question is not, and has never been an officer in the guild. The money has in no way, at any time had anything to do with the guild or its leadership.

You also said that the officers told you to go fuck yourself. This is not true either; the GM himself said you'd get your gold back in a few days (since not all was available), and I also asked that person to give it back.

You say he ignored you. He says he asked if you wanted it back and you then ignored him. Word against word.

That you're angry that you lost your gold from a stupid drunken mistake on your part is understandable. That you would then not only leave the guild after being told you'd get the gold back, but also:

Call EVERYONE in the guild scumbags and douchebags
Threaten to lie to the Game Masters about the gold being sold for some kind of revenge ban
Go on the fourm to actually lie about the situation to make an entire guild look bad and yourself a prosecuted martyr
...that is pathetic.

This is an issue between you and one other player. When you cried to the officers, we offered a solution, but you wanted none of it; instead, you tried to make it out to be a guild issue.

Now after partaking in this slice of easily avoidable and useless drama, let me add to the tips for newbies your title hints at:

Don't trade away all your money, real world or not, although this comes natural for most people.
People will lie for gain, such as to make a situation look favourable to them; don't just take everything at face value and jump on the outrage bandwagon.

The leadership reaction was just as, if not more, offending that the player's in question. No one has taken any action, even after the player admitting to taking the money the first response from everyone in charge was "it is none of our concern, your fault". After quitting, i even got a reply in the line of "since you left the guild this is no longer a guild issue, and you're just gonna accept it that you lost the gold". Sugarcoating the entire thing now has no impact, your actions, or lack of, have spoken for you. It was never my attempt to be a martyr, it was actually a tale for the more trusting players in this community who invest their time into the game on how to avoid such things and have a more pleasurable playing experience.

Dowas77 wrote:He can't give you the name.. Because then you will find out on how much he has been lying in this post. He is changing stuff for making the guild look bad.

I did not want to list any names because even though i was screwed, it seemed unfair to attract attention to these players. It was a mistake to even mention the guild's name, true, i guess my intentions weren't 100% honest, but i'm sure that if i had omitted the name, the lying defense force would come in full power the same way it came now, and just for that, i will here state the name of several players involved, just in case people want to know. The player who got the gold was a lv60 warrior named "Caty", the officers who did close to no action were "Eldarathian" and "Chraa". One of the officers i attempted to contact after getting ignored by the mentioned above is "Iliketostab", i only asked him to check if there is any plan to repay my gold and his response was "i'm only rogue class leader man, it's between you and him". Now, we could argue that their faulty lies solely in their inability to act, but seeing as the amount of gold is quite hefty it does not lessen the damage for me.

This has now turned into a real drama, but i had to point out that i had nothing to hide nor a reason to lie. After 3 days no one has offered to help me in any way, instead i'm getting "none of our business" replies, which in my book are as good as "go f*** yourself". Now i'm not a social player, i don't visit the forums, this is my second post here, i only once posted about some quest or something, and it is by no means a cry as i have nothing to gain by it nor can i achieve a satisfactory conclusion, it is, like i said, a lesson to all players out there who invest their valuable time into this game, or are planning to, there are some serious conclusions to draw from this entire story, a story i wish i could have read before i started playing.

I would be a bit worried about getting banned now for mentioning people's names, i know Blizzard had a strong policy against that, don't know if that's the case here, but seeing that i logged in 20 minutes in the last two days after playing 3 or more hours each day for the past two months i'm just willing to take that chance.

Thank You, and good luck!

man, I gotta ask, even if you were drunk..

how does typing 5g, get to become 1500g? I understand a mistake of 150g and adding a 0 to make it 1500, but typing 1500 instead of just 5?
