Let's Make Nostalrius Great Again (donate)

Servers cost money. Lots of it.
Most WoW servers have some sort of 'pay to win' or 'pay for convenience' system in place in order to run and maintain their private WoW server, something that Nostalrius claims they will never introduce.
Well, if this is the case then we all need to start taking action if we want the server to become stable. Making posts about how the servers lag too much, or whining about the chinamen invasion isn't a solution. It's just an outlet people use to point the finger at the deeper underlying issue... which is money.

Ah! You see, that's the problem here. That will cost money. So why not just upgrade the server so that we don't -need- another server? People continually complain that the server population is too much, well, on non-peak hours, it's just fine. If you were to change this perfect balance then you could potentially ruin the server. They took a huge risk with the PvE server, luckily it didn't seem to effect the PvP server what-so-ever, so that's on the plus side.

mb bcz the most problems on pvp server - chineses? and Nostalrius dont have any place in china for them?

Why bother writing this? No one will donate.
It's that type of thinking that makes this issue even greater. If everyone believes that they won't put the money to good use, or that not enough people will donate, then it will never happen. I only write this because I don't want to see such a great project get destroyed because the community refuses to help, and would rather complain about xiaos.

The lag and distance view issues are becoming serious, it wasn't that atrocious a few weeks ago and with the actual crazy amount of players it's hardly going to be better in terms of stability/game fluidity if nothing is done.

I would donate if the devs weren't completely ignoring us.

Until they announce plans for a new server, I'm not giving a penny.

If they'd release the info on how much they need before they can afford new server hardware, the donations would flow. Right now donating is totally nebulous. Throwing money into the ether and hoping it will help.

Give people a mark that needs to be reached, and I'm sure it will be.

i will donate only when protection paladin abilities are fixed and working properly , otherwise no point doing this.

Server is great , but not on my interest since is not even close to blizzlike.

Once players start leaving because of performance issues caused by overpopulation, the devs will indeed open another server to get everyone to come back. That's how businesspeople think: not "what would the customer like" but "what makes us more money." Currently Nos is making more money from the overpopulated PvP server than they would if they spent money on a second server, and the revenue from the one PvP server will have to declilne enough for their CFO to recommend opening a second server. Until that time donations WILL be spent on baguettes and maybe pate and Beaujolais.

Can I still complain about Xiao's after donating? Pretty sure they're still going to be a problem.

Complaining about this issue isn't going to fix it. The only thing that will fix it, is money.

I tried to donate just now.. Unfortunately I don't read french, and don't have a french paypal account. I'm also not willing to provide my CC info to the frenchies. Is there an easier way to donate? Preferably in English?

Donated once and probably will again. Doesn't matter what they annouce or don't announce, any bit helps and will keep this brilliant project running longer.

To above, you can donate with an english paypal just fine. Paypal should give you an option to convert, or it will automatically convert if you donate in dollars.

It should be straightforward to navigate if you've used paypall before, interface is the same. Using a translator could help if you want to know exactly what some buttons say.
