This is actually a legitimate concern. I do wonder if GMs even consider it. I would like an official response on that.

oh cmon, all you had to do was return the gold via mailbox if you are trying to put forwards a genuine case here that you wanted to return it. New player or not that is the obvious thing to do if you planned to return it, not add player to friend list and wait for them to come online.

If your ban was undone what's to stop everyone just saying in gchat or to friends oh someone has accidently sent me gold and then keep it.

why not just admit you bought gold and got busted. As they have said in various threads they can trace the gold from multiple origins so pretty sure they know what you did.

The best policy when receiving gold from an anonymous source via mail is one of two option

1. hit the "return" button

2. leave it in the mailbox and open a ticket immediately.

I had absolute no need to buy gold i farmed my mount i was just at mid fourty at the time about a couple of day or after buying my mount that i farmed for and i was doing very decently in the AH always had gold for my spells
and i managed to get my mount without any help absolutely no reason for me to buy gold what so ever , Buying gold and just letting it collect dust is not logical as well.

You're going to spend money to get tainted gold and send that weaponized gold to someone you don't like? Heh...not sure they would only penalize your throwaway account and not any associated accounts. ;)

Let's be real, if you were going to return it you would have done it right away.

Then he would've been banned for trafficking. Even if he had simply returned the mail, without accepting the gold, it could be considered trafficking. As I see it, his account was forfeit the instant the sender hit send.

Assuming it's true, ofcourse. The chat doesn't prove or disprove any actions taken outside of the game. It's not like as if you'd go /G LOL I BOUGHT 300 G FOR 5$. You'd likely have had contact via a third party website or skype, if you bought gold.
What I'm trying to say is that your ingame chatlog doesn't show your true intentions.

Sucks to get banned for a silly 300g though, regardlessly of how it was obtained.

That is my opinion of the situation.

Sorry. I find it very hard to believe that someone sent you 300 gold. That's a lot of gold for someone to send...Just sounds a little 'too good to be true'.

I agree with you completely , but i do feel like they should factor some of the reason behind buying gold as wanting to buy a mount or a specific item in my case i already got my mount and had my spells learned and basically had no need for the extra gold , If real life police never took in ''motive'' in their investigation they would no way near reasonable arrests and would have had many more cases of Wrongful incarceration.
