How much is Parrot Cage (Hyacinth Macaw) really worth?

It might not be worth that much on this server, but no reason you shouldn't try for at least enough to cover the cost of an epic mount. If it doesn't sell then you can always go lower. People usually are willing to pay any price for rare items if you are the only one with the good and no competitors. 1000 gold is easier than farming 70,000 lowbie pirates.

A friend of mine recently bought an epic spectral tiger on retail for like 600 dollars. If anyone is retarded enough to do that I'm sure some weirdo eventually will buy that parrot for 1k gold

Unfortunately these don't seem to be worth a lot. I've seen them on the ah multiple times for around 30ish gold. I myself bought one for that price as well. I expected them to be worth far more but pets in general don't have a huge pricetag to them. Probably the most expensive pet is the emerald whelp, at least on ally side, which is odd because the drop rate for it is a heck of a lot higher than hyacinth.
