That being said, Nostalrius has the ability to restore the old characters, if they choose not to restore them, that would be very disappointing. They already said that they could release the database (back at shutdown), which most likely includes the characters. I did not have days invested on my characters, but Nostalrius, if you're planning a relaunch, please don't screw over the thousands of old players that invested a significant portion of their time into their characters. If you have the ability to return the database, there shouldn't be any reason not to get our characters back.
Another thing to say about progression realms, to everyone saying "it wouldn't be fair if we got the characters back because it's be too hard to catch up". Do you think it'd be fair to wipe over 800k accounts just because you came a year late? I came 3 months before shutdown. Despite being an entire year behind, I didn't become jealous of everyone else because they started playing a year before I had.
Personally, I wouldn't be terribly upset if they decided to do a fresh start. But seriously Nost, if you're relaunching, think it over. If you still have the database, why wipe the 800k accounts that have supported your server since Day 1?
Very well said.
