People got banned for mining in Silithus because the GMs decided the nodes weren't behaving properly. Little to none of the Silithus miners knew they were doing anything wrong, but five people got banned anyway. If the GMs will ban for that, then you'll bet your ass they'll permaban people for this, as it's actually a super-obvious exploit. TOU states major exploits are permabans.
