Was one of the first hunters on the server when Nost launched to tame BT. Thank god too, can't imagine how hard this must be now.

I tamed BT around a month ago. He is a curse.

When I got to lvl 46 he was lvl 39, so I was forced to grind to level him. I hit 48 in the process and BT hit 48 too. That took days of grinding. Then he slips behind 6 whole levels again, you can barely use him to quest, and leveling is painful. I've been lvl 60 for over a week, and I just got BT to ding 55. When I do a dungeon I put him on passive and stay, hide him in the back, and dismiss every time we pass by a group of mobs. It's a nightmare, it isn't worth it, trust me. There hasn't been one pvp encounter where I felt his attack speed made a difference. I sincerely suggest getting a ZG bat, and picking up a random pet every 4 levels until you hit 60.

Compared to the time it takes to level a pet from 37 to 60 (even if you tame at 37), the taming isn't the hard part at all. It just requires showing up on time and taking the right approach. Also, it is kind of lame that 50% of all hunters have the same pet model.

Part of vanilla core gameplay is competition. Competition for node spawn, world bosses, and hunter pets among other things.
