World PvP didnt die when battleground was released, it was kinda hilarious because Battlemasters werent in cities like now but only in those specific locations so people had to run there every time they wanted to queue, what really killed World PvP were flying mounts in TBC. All those world PvP areas Blizzard devs created in Hellfire, Zangarmarsh, Nagrand and Terrokar forest were made useless by some lazyass dev who wanted flying mounts because they looked pretty.

Gonna have to disagree. I remember all the stuff they tried to do to revitalize world PvP. Silithus geyser thingies. The towers in EPL. Interest in those lasted a week. Only time good battles happened after BG's came out was for world bosses. I'm of course referring to relatively organized melees between large groups and / or extended battles and stuff like that. Ganking and small fights did continue till flying mounts but rarely the large scale battles of CR and SS. Only when someone like that Simoch or whatever guy organized a raid to remember the 'good times'. Ganking and small fights are still technically world PvP but I don't count them.

Also...

There was a reference to this event on jeopardy in 2005 along with some of the videos of it still on Youtube uploaded in 2005-6 so unless they staged it with a time machine it was in Vanilla. Sorry. That guy is still totally a wrath baby though.
You are not special. No one knows your name. No one will remember your name. Nothing you do will matter. Ever.

In the spirit of thos thread I feel obligated to point out that for a while you needed at least one paladin to not be full holy in order to buff Kings. :ugeek:

...

You obviously still had said paladin heal though.

Kings was the 31pt retribution talent. Calling 20/ 0/31 'holy' is a bit of a stretch.

Wrong.

Oh right, I forgot. They were like version 1.0 of lfg tool, yes? You would use them to fill your party. I know they reworked these in tbc. Ah well I never used them because I always ran with guild mates at the time.

No. They only told you the level-range of the dungeon. Nothing else.
