It wont be blizzlike if not but hey! The majority will be satisfied if people say no to flying mounts, so why not?
We dont have to put rules on ourselves just cause "blizzlike".

And its quite an important thing to vote for. Imagine a tbc realm with tons of population and no flying?! Would be something we never seen before and could end up to be really entertaining!!

Nah that won't happen.

First of all, such massive changes to the original game mechanics are a dangerous path. Where do you stop?
Even after a vote, a part of the losing minority might stop playing - do this with a few core aspects, and you potentially have a problem. The original game mechanics, while not perfect, have already proven to be enjoyable to the community by and large, so they seem to be a good common denominator.

And even from a more practical point of view. Many TBC locations and quests where only achievable using flying mounts, significant parts of the addon might become unplayable without.

Doubt it, I came here to play vanilla WoW not TBC, a lot of people here probably feel the same.

The level-cap enthusiasts who fancy that this is retail will transfer to TBC. Those who enjoy levels 1-59 might or might not transfer depending on how they like the way the level 1-59 content was changed in TBC. Heck, as a levels 1-10 enthusiast I'm going to give TBC a try just to check out the content changes, which I missed back in the 00s.

Thatoneguy wrote:Wow is designed to keep people grinding, TBC won't make it any less of a grind. Gear is more attainable but now there is even more gear to get such as: trinkets, rings, belts, necks, offhand / shield, relic / bow / idol, special mounts etc. Every new PvP season all of your gear will become outdated and the grind starts from scratch. Not to mention that you require X amount rating before you can actually purchase some items.

The other issue that TBC brings is much bigger. When you go out to do WPvP everybody will be in the air on their flying mounts. In TBC the most visited area is a neutral zone, Alliance and Horde will walk together as if they are friends.

There are WPvP objectives such as the towers in Terokkar Forrest. The WPvP objectives always felt like a chore to me but maybe it'll be fun with 10K people online. Even though WPvP makes a big decline in TBC it still offers a ton of fun content and I'll be waiting for it.

Basicly what he says. The PvP decay from vanilla will be replaced with sets that upgrade each season. The grind will still be there.
The world PvP events Blizzard introduced were pretty meh because again the rewards were kinda shitty if i remember correctly.

PvP will shift further away from wPvP and more towards arena. Since the treshold for nearly high end gear becomes lower, more people will farm for it.

Flying mounts, neutral zones, etc.... will just diminish it further.

The only place you will always have PvP is when you are going to fight for recourses. Be that mobs for skins, herbs, mobs with drops, instance entrance, BGs,... that's the places you will need to go. Combine that with some grind of your self or you will get a cold shower where you get 2 shotted and become irrelevant.

I will surely go to a TBC server if a good server opens up. My goal was to play Vanilla and TBC again, but to be honest Vanilla isn't that awesome as I remember it to be.

The PvP is a complete joke (with or without lag), and even the PvE content isn't that great either. There's only 4 main raids in the game (right now only MC and BWL), and from a raiding PoV, it gets quite boring to farm the same easy raids over and over again. Even ZG, for which I was extremely hyped, got boring pretty fast. Not to mention that class / itemization balanace is terrible (some items are so OP that they get used in later expansions, whereas others are so bad they are instantly sharded).

There's a lot more PvE content in TBC. Not only raids, but also (heroic) dungeons so there's a lot more to do. Classes and items are a lot more balanced as well. So yes, once I've seen at least a decent chunk of AQ40 / Naxx, I'll probably move my ass to TBC asap once a server opens up

You have to remember though that you need a flying mount to access certain places in the game, so I highly doubt that they will go through great lengths to adjust everything to the non-flying situation. Would be pretty interesting though :)

Feenix switched to TBC. Feenix is dead now. Any more questions?

The thing that many may miss from the original Vanilla and TBC, is the friends and the social-push-forward aspect, making it a massive competition over who has the best gear.

That was a big drive for many and having a cool bunch of friends did make all the mob clears in MC go much faster. The idle chat with fellow healers, the random rambling of a drunkard or cheeky youngsters hitting on the girls, it all was there to make up the entire canopy of Vanilla WoW.

TBC may kill wPVP as flying mounts make everything close, yet distant. PVE will soar though as TBC raids were truly epic.

Arena may be an Achilles heel or how you spell it. Cause after few seasons, that's it, there is no more pre-programmed, pre-made blizz arena gear. What then?

As i'm Moonkin aka Space Chicken enthusiast, TBC for me is a big yes!

I'll be staying in Vanilla, I prefer it over BC.
