O I know, im my guilds Shadow Priest and we would never even consider running an oomkin.
I was just using its buff as an example of something unique it brings as a hybrid spec where as a ret paladin has nothing unique or special about it that would define it in a raid setting.
People may argue Nightfall but most guilds have OT that run Nightfall so that kinda moot.

Much as I am enjoying reliving most of 2004-06, this thread does serve as an example of something I don't miss about vanilla. Namely, hybrid classes being pigeonholed into healing (even when not in a "serious raiding guild", healing is what those classes are best at).

And warriors being the only real tanks.

( now if there was a server that was TBC, but had the WOTLK version of Resilience, and dual-spec functionality ... we'd be gettin' something worth regularly donatin' to ... )

Supposedly pidgeon holed, yet nigh impossible to get a single healer in battleground pugs. Every druid is feral, every paladin is ret, and half the priests are shadow.

You guys need to learn that the second you mention Paladin and "Holy" isn't in the same sentence, Duki and Theloras will show up to spew their shit.

Now Dreary, we don't wanna go down the same road that Holystrike went down on the forums do we?

I'm not denying that you have contributed a great deal to knowledge about ret paladins, but you have been going overboard recently. Everyone just needs to chill.

That's actually what I wanted in the first place - I didn't want to be a fixture for the trolls and haters here - which is why I had asked Smiter to write his guide on the forums because I wanted others to step up to the plate.

Little did I know that Holystrike would go off the reservation the way he did...and we are where we are now.

Smiter's guide got locked and I had to write up a Nost version of my guide from Peenix here.

I agree. There is nothing more sad to see than the self-pally hate vanilla wow has. Most class forums are filled with helping threads loaded with information while pally players fight each other constantly and spill over into general forums and world chat.

In general though, the one bad thing brought back with this game is the know-it-alls who, even when faced with statistical proof and videos, continue to spout the same tired opinions based largely on stereotypes. There are guilds and players in game far more open minded with the capacity to educate players or even try new things. I suggest players seek these others out in game and pick out the information from forums relevant to their needs and not get caught up in the crying game.

Especially on Feenix where half the shit wasn't working correctly. Bosses didn't correctly function, buffs could be stacked in ways they shouldn't, and fundamental mechanics like glancing blows were broken. "I did X on Feenix" renders any claim completely invalid.

Yes you are correct , nothing was working even close to our ability in Peenix , unlike there in Nostalrius they work and some of them are even more powerful.

Here is the list with comparison between our abilities in peenix and nostalrius .
/Wisdom is Priority
/Activity is Skill
/Skill is gear
