I agree with it just being part of the current subscription fee. Some of us might play legion when we get to raid logging mode and vice versa, the communities might bounce off each other. Given retail is declining this could help bring it back. I just won't understand blizzard if they don't do this. Surely it's good for everyone.

Of course there is need for diffrent solution(s) because you can't put in the same bracket the newest expansion and content patches which are might be developing right now as we speak and the game that was developed and finished 10 years ago and which does not require any new content patches and development anymore. So how on earth can you put sign "=" btw these two?? The only question is which solution will be taken.

depends if they want to work on it a little bit. because when i think about it i would be tempted to fix some things like should there be a guild bank? what if they updated models? I'm not sure what would need changing if anything. Was there any point in vanilla you could report afk in bgs? or was that later cause i would love to do that. But i guess changing things is a slippery slope.

is luna frames going to work with this.... will we need to make all new addons? i don't think i can live without my luna

@ EyeofTruth
I understand your concern there but trust me, no selfish parasites here, if the subcription fee is the only way to play on official classic realms, OK then, but we are only expressing our thoughts and opinions about this oportunitty that Blizzard will might give us legacy realms. And no, no1 is preassuring Blizzard and giving negative suspucions here, just suggestions, nothing else and we all know that about this whole matter Blizzard will give their final words.

About the constancy thing you just spoke of, I don't think so that modern wow will be threatned by legacy servers because there will be always 10 years of timespan btw those two and in mmorpg genre, that's a lot.

So you want them to supply their resources for free or below running cost just because the development of the expansion you specifically want to play is finished? You don't want to pay for the company to survive so they can continue supplying you the servers that you want to play on? Honestly, they are a business. Why on earth would they supply you the specific content you want if you are not willing to invest?

@ Hammersplat
No updated models and no guild banks and nothing that was introduced in later expansions should be added because we are asking from Blizzard official and original vanilla realms that were used to be during 2004-2006 and not some hybrid custom vanilla servers because at the end we can ask that Blizzard should speed up leveling rate, give us option to buy mounts at lvl 20, give us LFG/LFR tools etc.. and spoil the whole experiance. And take every Blizzard's game except wow for example. For all these games (Diablo 2 and 3, Starcraft 1 and 2, Warcraft III:Frozen Throne) you just buy them and play them without subcription fee and yet Blizzard is still fixing bugs for them and Blizzard is still releasing some patches for these games and blizzard is still running the servers for them for online gaming. In the same position we would have Blizzard's official legacy realms.

@ FoeReaper
I've never said for free, avoiding monthly subscription fee and taking other solutions does not mean that Blizzard will run these servers for free, I've just shared my suggestions. And for all of yours questions I have one rethorical question:"Why is Blizzard still releasing patches and still running their servers for online gaming for almost all of their games (Warcraft 3:Frozen Throne , Diablo 2 and 3, Starcraft 1 & 2) and yet you don't pay subcription fee for these mentioned games?"

I think they run them because they are funded by wow subscriptions. I saw a report somewhere, which is probably now out of date that wow was still 70% of their profit. Funny because they advertise all the others so heavily and barely advertise wow.

I think it you have a free game you will need a cash shop. but i don't really know a lot about it.

Maybe because those games never had a subscription pay model, so why would they suddenly have one now? You just sound so excruciatingly entitled, I can't tell if your just very young or if you're trolling.

The OP is the stereotypical vanilla privateserver player personified. Wow. Well I'm glad that this thread has demonstrated so very clearly how this type of player isn't in any way shape or form representative of the community as a whole. I'd personally be willing to buy legion, pay the normal subfee and an additional fee beyond that to play a vanilla server. Money isn't a problem, the non-existence of a legit way to play vanilla is.

The kind of player that the OP represents have played on pirated servers since the game launched. I dare say that the majority of the nostalrius community played private because there was no other freaking option.
