I'm largely indifferent to this topic.

I don't sympathize with players that list their items way below market value in order to transfer it to a cross-faction alt. There should be a lot of risk for that type of behavior.

I also don't care for botting/sniping that automates the process for grabbing cheap deals.

I agree... that's just the risk you take so ppl needa stop QQing when someone else makes again off their misfortune

Indeed, the risk about getting our items bought off neutral AH is what we fight every single day. This post is not against neutral AH snipers as a whole. It is about neutral snipers that automatically buy items the moment you post while being afk doing something else at the same time. You can try snipe all you want, and we could care less if you snipe an item or two.

Anyway, currently there has been a very low number of snipers left and life has been well for us neutral-transferrers. The war has been won. But let us always be vigilant, we dont know when they'll strike again.

posting here will get you nowhere... like what i posted, you need to file a ticket ingame preferrably when the suspect is online and ask for a GM to investigate the said character.

Where is your evidence that he is botting?

You need to understand that if enough people are constantly scanning the neutral auction house, there will be no discernible difference between someone who is botting, and someone who just got lucky and scanned at the right time.

Submit the ticket. The GM will likely whisper the accused and do some tests to ensure he is actually at his computer sniping the auctions, and if he is, there is no ToU violation.

That is not the interpretation I posted. I said if you are actively playing the game i.e. NOT afk*, and you are sniping auctions**, you are not in violation of the ToU.

*Being not afk is a level of interaction where you can pass the turing test of a GM. e.g. Respond and complete tasks to prove you are not a machine.

**The use of addons to complete actual sniping is irrelevant. A sniping addon is ridiculously simple, and is no different than using an automated scan in auctioneer. The addon will just repeat a scan until search criteria are met, and then prompt the user to purchase the auction or automatically buy it.
