Some vague stuff about how they aren't trying to get people to fanboy them, but they want people to wait and see what happens.

That's the exact thing I've been asking everyone reading their forums to do for the past 24 hours, instead they are the ones posting to make it seem like they are the official new thing.

If they would have been anywhere near as serious as they claim to be, they would have made an announcement saying that they will try to see if it's feasible for both them and the current Nostalrius staff to take over, but in contrast all their posts are regarding the matter of how they already have it all planned out and they are "just waiting for the current staff to click on shutdown and copy all their work to hem".

Their approach to all of this shows just what kind of personality "our future staff" is going to have, which is:

  • Purely looking for some quick fame, obtained by the work of others.
  • A bunch of guys too young to have even played the original vanilla (some are just 18 years old as of today, are you kidding me?).
  • They are in no way capable of delivering the quality of future content that Nostalrius has been giving us so far.

The sad part is that the more they post vague and often even incorrect answers to counter it, the more they are only confirming my original statements...

They might actually be serious in regards to seeing themselves as the future Nostalrius team. The problem is that all the stubborn people are (potentially caused by emotions leading their thoughts at this point) already seeing the place as their new home, where they will be able to re-live the experience that they had here, which is simply not the case. Their current team is in no way even close to being able to deliver the experience the people are expecting.

Good luck watching them code new content in the future. Christ, people already started to try to to throw money at them for the simple fact that of one of their staff members is (supposedly) following some education to become a (game)developer. Congratulations, coding the server has nothing to do with the classes some first-year student is being taught there. In fact, it has almost zero relation whatsoever, because they are focusing on the client and not the server going by the subjects mentioned on the website.

I love it how they are still refraining from posting their past work, which had thousands of players...

But no worries guys, these guys got it all covered.

That's up to them. It's their forum. I stopped posting there, because that's the exact same thing I was already told by them a few hours ago directly.

As long as they keep their filthy hands off the main branch I'm fine with whatever they end up doing. I just don't want anyone reputable to have to deal with the (anti-)quality of code that their guys are capable of delivering.

Mind you, this is the development team's work so far:
- Pesthuf: https://github.com/Pesthuf?tab=activity / http://repos.io/user/github/Pesthuf/contributing/ (which makes this guy the only person on the team who at least knows something)
- Tekiro: http://www.ac-web.org/forums/showthread ... rcraft-mod like I already posted, it's just some herp-derp-anti-blizzlike-server guy who thinks he knows how to code
- Hawkleaf: An 18 year old ponylover, who has troubles working with Laravel (which is an open-source PHP framework) and has like 200 notes on the web asking for help.

Can I somehow delete my forum profile there? Also: I want to change my password on Nost. Is that service still up and running and with no problems?

You would need to ask/request them to do so, because by default phpbb doesn't offer the option.

Yeah I looked them all up too. Pretty disappointing. I would like for a site to come up that the Nost team endorses and possible joins. The Nost team is so unique and capable. It's just not going to be simple to find another team with the same qualifications and drive as them.

The issue at hand is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the mentality and being willing to learn, but leading a project this size and having a huge community behind it, who is knowing to expect and demand a pretty damn high level of quality and quantity means you need more to be able to deliver up to the expectations of said community. People already complain a lot when the team is a few days or weeks behind schedule on releases and will spam the forums when something isn't 100% as it should be, well guess what, that's what it will be like a lot if there is no team who is truly as experienced as the current team is.
