I'm also wondering if I can change my password to my Nost account, is there any feasible way of doing this now?

This projects core and DB is priceless right now and should be held onto until this lawsuit is taken care of, and only given to the proper group who will truly carry on what you've started.

Yes, exactly!
by the way that last part of your sentance kind of hit me with a bit of Kylo Ren, if u get me :D

You are new around here. Welcome to Private servers.

Do you think you will ever play your character again? Youll be lucky if another project is willing to even go near that character DB with all the heat on it.

The only thing they have left is the core. Giving it away for free to everyone is the only shot at other private servers being this good ever again.

Giving it to 1 person would cause another lawsuit.

Please troll more, please love classic not yourself

agreed.

Sure, that works too. It was a hypothetical. I'm not saying that is what Nost would do.

Making multiple realms has cons too. It splits up the playerbase, reduces guild sizes, reduces the populations of zones that aren't overpopulated, reduces AH volume, reduces instance/dungeon group pools and etc.

There is no perfect solution. Can't change the zones, can't change the content and neither solution for managing the overpopulation of zones will be without cons.

dear, I made 3 guilds on this damned server, all of them reaching deep BWL. Alone and from scratch, mind you. The biggest issue I had was the imbeciles that were running guilds of 200+ players, lying them they will get all in raids, while only 40 entered constantly and the others were left drooling. Because of these dickheads, we had trouble recruiting people, since very few were unguilded. These BIG guilds are a plague, a guild doesnt need more than 70-80 players IN TOTAL to be effecive, anything more than that its basically stupid from countless of reasons. A huge server can be fun but it's not the solution to a smooth experience, the best thing Nostalrius could've done would've been to split the community into 2 servers with no lag/delay whatsoever.

As long as they keep their filthy hands off the main branch I'm fine with whatever they end up doing. I just don't want anyone reputable to have to deal with the (anti-)quality of code that their guys are capable of delivering.

Mind you, this is the development team's work so far:
- Pesthuf: https://github.com/Pesthuf?tab=activity / http://repos.io/user/github/Pesthuf/contributing/ (which makes this guy the only person on the team who at least knows something)
- Tekiro: http://www.ac-web.org/forums/showthread ... rcraft-mod like I already posted, it's just some herp-derp-anti-blizzlike-server guy who thinks he knows how to code
- Hawkleaf: An 18 year old ponylover, who has troubles working with Laravel (which is an open-source PHP framework) and has like 200 notes on the web asking for help.

Lol, people who go to that server are in for the ride of their life, and not in a good way. That is NOT going to work and they're not going to be capable of maintaining the Nostarlius codebase. For example, here is my Github https://github.com/HelloKitty and I'd have to say it's unlikely that I could properly inherit Nostarlius' codebase.

First of all, not really a C/C++ man and if people are realistic with themselves they should know it'd take a long time to become fully comfortable with: WoW client, JAM Protocol, Packet and what each does and looks like, Networking, Building game servers at scale and etc. There are some of the many things Nostarlius had to be capable of to deliver the experience here.

A learning webdeveloper, some guy with some single fork of someone's software and like a post on a pull request, and someone who's lightly dabbled in custom WoW stuff are not going to be the devlopers you want to manage your future.

That's spot on what I've been saying as well for so long now. However there is some good news. At least one of them has decided to change his forum name, now that will fix it!
