Did you ask for CVs of Nostalrius Devs?
Did you even look at the source before this whole thing?
No, you just played, the quality of the service answered all your questions.
There's a few old/established servers willing to carry the mantle.
If they're so good why weren't you playing there instead of Nostalrius?
What makes you think they are willing to change their whole process to accommodate Nost ethos?
Blizz-like, no cash shop, no premium perks, no bs +exp events and such.
All the stuff that made Nostalrius a phenom in the private server scene despite all those other servers existing.
There might be a new team that forms and manages to pull it off
because they get a huge leg up from Nostalrius opensourcing their code and serving their playerDB.
If the core of the team is serious in their approach they will attract people they need along the way too, they don't need to start with a Nost size team (who of the established servers has such a one anyway)
Is that team the vanilla re guys? I've no idea but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
There will be kiddies, scammers trying to exploit an unfortunate situation for harvesting emails, accounts etc.
The best we can do is keep ourselves safe until the dust settles.

We will provide this information when the time comes and we alone will announce it. Note that we have not released any data yet and will not do so prior to announcing it. It's worth mentioning that being in contact with Nostalrius regarding said data does not make you, or any other server favored above others and should not be advertised as such. We feel that it's the player(s) that should inform themselves and make their own decision as to where to go. We also urge players to follow proper account security when joining new servers.
- Do not use the same email you used for your nostalrius account on new servers/forums.
Make a throwaway one, it takes 2minutes. - Do not use the same password (duh?)
- Do not change your realmlist.wtf to point to a new address until someone you trust has verified what's listening on the other side.
At the very least make a new account and try to login with it first, not with your Nost account data. - Do not post your login name anywhere
Then you can give emerging projects the benefit of the doubt.
On that note I don't understand this crusade against Tekiro and co.
It serves nothing productive. Protect yourself and let them prove what they're about (or not)
