Creep, didn't anyone ever tell you not to believe everything you read on the internet?

By the way, I don't know who the heck that is but it ain't me, I still don't understand why you have it in for us, when we're just trying to redeliver what the Nostalrius team has, you also have no right to sit there and claim that the developers don't know what they're doing based on third party VERY OUTDATED information.
You don't have to play/support Nost Reborn and nobody is forcing you to, but you just make yourself look like a fool when you go around making claims like what you are with no actual proof.

Also the name Tekiro I've only used on the blizzlike servers that I've been playing for the last couple of years.
I also changed my name to accommodate for the new avatar I wanted, which is no crime.

Does it feel good to try and steal a server's population when you clearly have no idea on how to run a server? Do you REALLY think you'll be capable of SUCCESSFULLY and PERFECTLY scripting NEW CONTENT?

I think you're just underestimating all the work the devs on Nostalrius have done for this server, OVER THE YEARS.

It's fine if you want to open a server, what's preventing you from doing it? Just don't wait for the work of others to become open source, if you really know what it's like to deliver a truly blizzlike experience, and to run a WoW private server, just pick up ManGOS, host it wherever the fuck you want and try to convince us that your server is prepared.

People are so ready to jump to conclusions and actually believe them to be true with no actual fact.
If you don't think we can do it, that's fine, go play Kronos or something, cause I'm not gonna continue to waste my time trying to convince people that we DO know what we are doing and ARE prepared for it and ARE aware of what's involved.

I'm just going to stop replying here, clearly I'm wasting my time.

Well what reasoning do you have to convince people to use your service over others? Many others have been providing the service relatively well, some monetized and some free, and they were doing it before the disaster. Why should new users trust a new site that doesn't even have an actual server running.

What sort of qualifications do you have over other currently operating servers?

As long as they keep their filthy hands off the main branch I'm fine with whatever they end up doing. I just don't want anyone reputable to have to deal with the (anti-)quality of code that their guys are capable of delivering.

Mind you, this is the development team's work so far:
- Pesthuf: https://github.com/Pesthuf?tab=activity / http://repos.io/user/github/Pesthuf/contributing/ (which makes this guy the only person on the team who at least knows something)
- Tekiro: http://www.ac-web.org/forums/showthread ... rcraft-mod like I already posted, it's just some herp-derp-anti-blizzlike-server guy who thinks he knows how to code
- Hawkleaf: An 18 year old ponylover, who has troubles working with Laravel (which is an open-source PHP framework) and has like 200 notes on the web asking for help.

Lol, people who go to that server are in for the ride of their life, and not in a good way. That is NOT going to work and they're not going to be capable of maintaining the Nostarlius codebase. For example, here is my Github https://github.com/HelloKitty and I'd have to say it's unlikely that I could properly inherit Nostarlius' codebase.

First of all, not really a C/C++ man and if people are realistic with themselves they should know it'd take a long time to become fully comfortable with: WoW client, JAM Protocol, Packet and what each does and looks like, Networking, Building game servers at scale and etc. There are some of the many things Nostarlius had to be capable of to deliver the experience here.

A learning webdeveloper, some guy with some single fork of someone's software and like a post on a pull request, and someone who's lightly dabbled in custom WoW stuff are not going to be the devlopers you want to manage your future.

That may be true for you, but on the contrary you won't share what you did so this is what we have to go with. As for the others you are going to tell me that none of your developers is 18 years old with the same name and the same signature quote? Alright.

Did you ask for CVs of Nostalrius Devs?
Did you even look at the source before this whole thing?
No, you just played, the quality of the service answered all your questions.

There's a few old/established servers willing to carry the mantle.
If they're so good why weren't you playing there instead of Nostalrius?
What makes you think they are willing to change their whole process to accommodate Nost ethos?
Blizz-like, no cash shop, no premium perks, no bs +exp events and such.
All the stuff that made Nostalrius a phenom in the private server scene despite all those other servers existing.

There might be a new team that forms and manages to pull it off because they get a huge leg up from Nostalrius opensourcing their code and serving their playerDB.
If the core of the team is serious in their approach they will attract people they need along the way too, they don't need to start with a Nost size team (who of the established servers has such a one anyway)
Is that team the vanilla re guys? I've no idea but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

There will be kiddies, scammers trying to exploit an unfortunate situation for harvesting emails, accounts etc.

The best we can do is keep ourselves safe until the dust settles.

              DISCLAIMER
Any server that advertises itself to have been given access to any of our data is providing false information and should be avoided. We will provide this information when the time comes and we alone will announce it. Note that we have not released any data yet and will not do so prior to announcing it. It's worth mentioning that being in contact with Nostalrius regarding said data does not make you, or any other server favored above others and should not be advertised as such. We feel that it's the player(s) that should inform themselves and make their own decision as to where to go. We also urge players to follow proper account security when joining new servers.

  1. Do not use the same email you used for your nostalrius account on new servers/forums.
Make a throwaway one, it takes 2minutes.
  2. Do not use the same password (duh?)
  3. Do not change your realmlist.wtf to point to a new address until someone you trust has verified what's listening on the other side.
At the very least make a new account and try to login with it first, not with your Nost account data.
  4. Do not post your login name anywhere

Then you can give emerging projects the benefit of the doubt.

On that note I don't understand this crusade against Tekiro and co.
It serves nothing productive. Protect yourself and let them prove what they're about (or not)

Some people are a little too paranoid. Nostalrius.pw allows you to reset your password using your email and username. They could log your email but that's not a big deal imo. I would only be worried about that original password getting out because that's a global password for all servers running Nost's data.
