Twink woes

There still hasn't been a fix for any of the twinking related bugs.
The issues are mainly broken quest requirements and broken rare spawns which both should be trivial to fix.

Here's a list of the standing bugs I'm aware of (note that db.vanillagaming has faulty quest requirements. http://db.valkyrie-wow.org/ seems to have the right ones):


Glacial Stone (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=5815) and Dartol's Rod of Transformation (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=5462) are unavailable because of broken level requirements in the Raene's Cleansing (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=1024) questline.
The whole chain should be completable at 18.

Gravestone Scepter (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=7001) and Arctic Buckler (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=7002) are unavailable for alliance players because of a broken requirement of the quest Blackfathom Villainy (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=1200).
The quest should be acceptable at 19 and without having done In Search of Thaelrid (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=1198).

Gold-plated Buckler (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=5443) is unobtainable because it's a drop from the Deadmines rare Miner Johnson (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?npc=3586) who never spawns.

Nightstalker Bow (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=6696) is unobtainable because it's a drop from the Razorfen Kraul rare Blind Hunter (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?npc=4425) who never spawns.


I assume the following quests are also bugged but cannot confirm it myself as I don't play horde:
Dangerous! (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=567).
The quest should be completable at 19.
Battle of Hillsbrad (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=527).
The whole chain should be completable at 19.


As for the broken quest requirements, could it be that every questline in the game should actually be completable with the requirement of the first quest in the line? I've also noticed there's a bug on Nost where you get a quest text popup even if you don't meet the requirements, but maybe the popup is intended client-side behavior for questlines and the actual bug is not the popup but the requirement? I cannot be certain of course as it was so long ago but I do believe to remember often ending up with deep red quests way too high for my level when doing chain quests back in retail vanilla.

Came across several chain quests that required suddenly a way higher level (felwood Horde chain that starts with 48 but at one point you have to be 58 xD) reported several of those not blizzlike level requirements but gms weren't convinced by my proof.

I mean srsly a level requirement jumping 10 levels higher? For a plain "talk to this guy" part of the chain.

I don't know if it is fixed now - I was there the last time in july.

I have just checked the quest on thottbot with wayback machine and those quest you have linked should all we available at level 18-19, but the earliest I could go was maj 2007 sadly. That was patch 2,1. The thing is that a database from another server just really isn't a good source. Try https://archive.org/web/ on sites that were active back in retail. Allakhazam, Thottbot etc.

On another note, I am pretty sure that quest chains can jump levels. I definitely remember that from retail, but no speceifics comes to mind.

Well, this wasn't meant as evidence, I'm just hoping to raise awareness. We've reported these ages ago on the bug tracker and this one here was confirmed: https://report.nostalrius.org/plugins/tracker/?aid=2373 but nothing ever happened. I also made an effort to dig up some evidence a while ago here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=22079&p=149123#p149123.

I am wondering if the World of Warcraft Master Guide (second edition) might be a definitive source for questions like this: http://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Ma ... 0744008190

I never had the second edition guide (I had the first edition), but the reviews were somewhat harsh. That said, one reviewer said:

"The quest section is almost a complete waste of space, giving only a quest title, general location, quest levels, which NPC starts and end the quest, prerequisite quests, max xp, gold and item rewards."

That raw data (quest level) should be helpful in resolving these issues. If anyone had the guide in the past, maybe you can chime in.

If it's confirmed then you just got to be patient. It can take a very long time for them to fix it even after it has been confirmed, especially low priority stuff like this.
In the meantime I hope you can live with 2 shotting other lowbies in levelling gear instead of 1 shotting them.
