Mount at 40 possible?

Hi all, just asking u guys if u had money for mount when u reached 40 on your 1st character?
Im at lv 36 and I just have money to buy spells, is this normal or im just bad at saving/making money?
I think my walking will not stop at 40

Just grind mobs for a few days and sell the greys. You will hit 40 and have about enough money for the mount and training. I recommend basilisks, scorpions, and vultures in desolace.

As long as you don't burn money on useless spells or professions while leveling, you should have enough at 40 (or a few levels after). Remember that the base cost for the riding skill plus the mount is 100g but can be reduced by 10% by having at least honored reputation and another 10% for having pvp rank 3 (sergeant) resulting in a cost of 80g.

Yeah im trying to save but is being hard . I dont waste money on AH, some spells like mana burn etc, I dont even learn to save some but is being hard.
I will try to grind a litle bit maybe like patsman said.
I can also forget mount and buy it when i got money, i guess more we lv more the quests and mobs give money... So will be easier to farm at later lvls

I hit 40 this past weekend and had enough gold for mount and skill training, and I haven't skipped any skills (even terrible Mocking Blow upgrades). It's really easy if you have a gathering profession that you keep up with while leveling.

Its possible easy if you plan for it.

You should have enough gold or even more if:

1) You skip useless or not that useful for leveling spells
2) You loot fucking everything and sell to vendor or ah depending which is more profitable
3) You dont buy *too much* shit from auction house or invest in professions

most people dont do that so they lack gold for mount at 40

*35-40 are most profitable levels also (due to higher vendor price from q rewards, trash items and general time spent)

Depends on your class. Paladins and warlocks get their mounts + riding skill for free .

I got my mount at 47 on retail vanilla.

I got my mount at 46 on Nost.

No idea how people do it at 40. I skipped unnecessary skills and penny-pinched all the way.

All depends on your professions. Gathering profs are best as you can sell the mats you don't need on AH, other than that its actually tricky if you're planning on just questing and not grinding mobs for greys or mats to sell, as quest reward gold alone is not enough to get you there.

In addiition to the thhings already mentioned -
Learn 2 gathering professions & sell the stuff you gather on the AH. The production professions are mostly a waste of money if you're saving for your mount.
