There appears to be a lack of variety of these very sought after shoulders. I've farmed these guys a good bit, and I've talked to some other druids, and it appears that (on the PvE server) the only varieties that have been dropping are: Whale, Owl, Arcane Resistance, Strength, and as of very recently Wolf.

After nearly 2000 kills between myself and the other druids I've spoken to no one has seen any other type drop, which would be expected given the size of the sample set and the number of times we have seen the above types.

Can anyone show that they have a different type on the PvE server? Gorilla, Tiger, Monkey, agility , et? The correct list should include all 10 animal types, all 5 stats, resistance, defense and potentially spell damage , healing. At one point there was a good list of the possible types on a site, but I am unable to find that site now.

Atal'ai Spaulders of the monkey exists. Our feral offtank had them before he quit 2 weeks ago.

PVE or PVP server? I'm only refering to PvE.

of coarse it's Random which type piece you get. Everyone knows that. and that is the exact point that i'm making (assuming that all types are correctly on the loot table) it appears they aren't completely 'Random'.

My question was 2 fold. Firstly that not all the piece can appear, second that they are all not as likely.
My underlyaing assumption is that that all pieces drop with equal frequency.

You say you saw someone with monkey. I'll assume PvE and I'll take that as fact.

That leaves us with apparent fact that not all pieces are as likely to appear. My overall numbers are non-trivial, with over 2k kills and countless drops we'd expect to see more variety of types. What are the odds of getting only 2 of twenty possible types 10 times in row? that is my personal experience. I'd expect to get less than 8 "of the Whale" . (I would not expect any 1 particular drop, but I would expect more variety. ) The fact there should be 20+ possible verities and 3 are coming up an overwhelming majority of the time seems to indicate some sort of biased.

So its not the obvious fact that the type is randomly determined, its more matter of is it truly random ( it appears to not be) and is that intentional? If so is that classic? Do we have any evidence that certain varieties of gear should be more rare than others? I do not recall that being the case. If that is intentional that's totally fine. I just don't want to be sinking a lot of time for no pay off.

imagine a d20, rolled 10 times. 8 of those 10 are 20 and the other 2 19. What are the odds? What are the odds the guy next to you rolls only 18, 19,20 in 10 rolls? and the guy next to him does the same in 10 rolls. At that point you have to start wondering about the die.

Anyone else on PVE sever got drops that aren't Whale, Strength, Owl, Arcane Resistance? I'd love to hear a lot of people tell me other types drop and the guys I 've talked to and myself have just had some really weird luck. This outcome is very much possible, although if its truly Random , its also extremely unlikely.

I guess some varieties are rarer than others. Regarding +Spell / healing types, they weren't added until a certain patch, and didn't existed at first on the PvP server, so that's normal they're not on the PvE server yet.

The of the monkey/tiger/owl/eagle/boar -versions should be there by default. With 2000 total drops (did you really get them to drop 2000 times in total or are you just making up a number? Or do you mean you killed all the trolls 2000 times?) it should be practically impossible to not get a "of the monkey" version.

With a bit of work you should be able to figure out the suffix IDs for the rest of the bonuses you're interested in.

I actually have the monkey one. I've only been to ST once.
