How i got screwed over by my guild (rant, tips for newbies)

Some info before hand, lv60 Human Warlock, started playing early August, also leveling a warrior.
Around two months ago i applied for membership in the guild Reciprocity, and was accepted as trial. I got a place in the raiding team right away as they were short on locks at that time. After 3-4 weeks on trial i got promoted to raider. There was never much chat in gchat in general, most people kept to themselves, but they seemed like a decent bunch, chatted with some regularly.
This Sunday we grouped for a scheduled MC run, i had a bit to drink before and was in a good mood. I owed one of the officers 5g for the pattern i sold which we found earlier, and jokingly while trading instead of 5g i typed in 1500g in the trade box and for reasons i can't remember now, since i never give gold to anyone, but like i said i had a bit to drink, i pressed yes. One minute after i requested the gold back, but the officer surprisingly refused to answer me both in whisper and gchat. During the next 24h i repeatedly asked for the gold back and was still ignored. At that time i decided to consult the other officers, and the guild master himself, all of which told me it was my fault and basically i can go f*** myself, while the officer who took the gold came up with some bs story how i game him gold and said absolutely nothing, so he was free to spend it at will. At that moment i got kinda pissed, left the guild, but still asking for my money back. Since then, most of them put me on ignore, and the ones that didn't repeated the "go f*** yourself" story. The officer who ran with the gold is still a member of the guild.
To cut the story short, trust no one, Nostalrius is an awesome thing, especially for people like me who wanted to play vanilla back in 2004/05 but never got the chance, but the community is really a bitch, i got screwed over big time, after logging in for 4 hours each day all my work was for nothing, will most likely quit soon. Never share your gold or items with anyone, not even for the giggles, no matter how trustworthy they seem, it is the only guarantee to have a pleasurable playing experience. I for one had no experience in mmos, and had to learn the hard way.
Rant over, good luck!
