They let you know in advance. The new popular excuse is that it's Christmas, unlimited resources for everyone! You see a node being farmed by 4-5 people repeatedly without despawning and your thought process immediately went to --- Imma get some of that.

I see that your brother has left your computer alone, probably stuffed himself with too much dinner and now is in a food coma.

Man it has to suck to be stupid enough to not realize that the spawn is almost certainly bugged after like the 2nd herb or 10th mine tapping. (Double spawns are after all not impossible. And even if those cases are bugs aswell, that would be a very minor one.)

I can only hope that everyone going with this defense is lying. After all you can replace a character, but not your brain.

Christmas special infinite herbs. :D

At least Daemon confirmed what I suspected regarding their intended handling of these bans.

Most of the conditions in the Daemon post make sense but I do hope that they will consider unbanning clearly innocent people even if they don't fullfil the requirements.

For example deleting the herbs/ore make sense if you farmed a lot but if for example you stopped right away and already had a lot in your bags it's not at all certain that you'd even think of doing that. After all, if all you did was pick a flower noticed that it was still there, picked it again and realized that it is bugged since it is still there a second time and stopped herbing you clearly do not deserve a permanent ban.

If you in that situation decided to run an instance instead you might first send your inventory to a bank alt or even put it on AH. And again, if the amount of herbs/ore gained from the bugged spawns were minimal this should still not be grounds for a permanent ban.

In fact I'd let anyone who gained less than ~100g either in gold or materials from this episode of the hook. Simply on the grounds that they clearly didn't abuse the bug to significantly boost their income.

I'm all for banning the exploiters. I just don't want to see people getting their bans upheld in cases where their moral wrongdoing is negligeble or non-existent just because they didn't exactly adhere to certain lines drawn in the sand after the fact.
