We were just leveling our characters my friend convinced me to play on this server he has 2 level 60s.
My friend just followed his rogue with his druid for the thorns buffs. We did not know this was not allowed. My friend said he was playing on 2 accounts. So suddenly a second GM pops up and asks this odd question to walk with the 3 characters in circle simultaneously. We kinda paniced and asked our third friend on skype to login and fulfill this task. Once our friend on skype logs in the GM tells instantly that this account get banned. Which is kinda strange cause he asked us to fullfill a job that wasnt possible only with account sharing. Because we already confessed that we were multiboxing.

I hope this misunderstanding can be corrected.

You weren't baited into a ban. You broke the rules and were punished. The task to run in circles simultaneously is to give the players a chance to prove that you have three humans playing three characters (or however many characters are involved).

There is a "no tolerance" stance on multi-boxing. Feel free to create a new account and start over on that character so long as you follow the rules.

I find it very surprising that one of you made it to 60 and did know their stance on multi-boxing.

[edit]: Account sharing is also a bannable offense. If you were like "Hold on, I gotta get my friend to log onto this 3rd account to run in circles" you were just digging yourself into a bigger grave.

You were banned for multiboxing, and now you also admit account sharing (with your 3rd friend on Skype) - so what is the problem really?

Yes, he cheated and got banned.

He already stated that he was playing on 2 characters. But the GM requested something strange.. So our friend logs in to this account which actually never had been shared before. We did not get banned for multiboxing we got banned for account sharing which never happend before.

Would it help if you got banned for multiboxing instead?

Beside that, he didn't get tricked into sharing account. He was tested to see if he did multibox, and he tried to prevent this by sharing his account.

Your friend has noone but himself to blame here.

And saying that you didnt know that multiboxing wasnt allowed ? Seriously ? There is something very wrong with nowdays gaming community. Should I name reasons why multiboxing isnt allowed in mmos? (apart from those that try to get more subscriptions this way or artificially increase their online numbers, but thats another topic on its own).

If someone asks you that you are multiboxing and you say yes and then they ask you to run simultaneously which is impossible but being pressured by "do it" "just do it, dont ask". This is the only reason our third friend from skype logged in onto his account. Just to fulfill his demand. We would have gotten a warning for multiboxing. We would never have account shared otherwise.

- You are multiboxing and get banned.
- You are multiboxing, won't admit, attempts to share account to prove you didn't, and get banned.

What is the difference? Apart from the latter being quite pathetic.

The point is we would have never even got banned for multiboxing. The GM stated he would give us a warning.
