Selling Raid Gear VS GDKP, either bannable?

by Skorn » Wed Jan 06, 2016 1:36 am

Heard a rumour about the following and was wondering if its valid?

Selling Raid Loot:

-Selling a raid slot for loot is bannable
-Selling raid gear is bannable if profits are not split between all raid members present
-Selling loot from chests to players outside the instance ID is bannable

GDKP Runs:

-GDKP is bannable if all profits are not split between all members of the raid at the end.

Seriosuly;

You can trade an in-game service for ingame gold.
How the hell is selling raid loot for gold any different from boosting a low level in an instance for gold?
You yourself made a topic offering people gold to get you through LBRS.... did you get banned for that?
Selling chest loot to someone outside ID > Step inside and you get ID wow problem solved so smart.

I ended up not fining a group for that LBRS and cleared it in a pug

As for the chest loot, we've been told by officers of several guilds that selling items from Majordomo has resulted in a warning from a GM.

There is shit on this server that is bannable that was not in retail and I think getting an answer instead of assuming is the best option.

There is a difference from majordomo and other bosses. Since Majordomo you don't actually need to have the guy buying the item to be in the raid (since it drops in a chest) so if the person you are selling it to is not in the raid when you kill domo but joins afterwards (potentially when you notice that the item dropped) this will get you warned and potentially banned. Since that way a person could be trying to buy an item without potentially using an ID for an attempt.

I am not a GM and i am not 100 % sure that this is the case but i just assume that Majordomo is a special case.

That's how it worked on retail. My guild used to sell eyes and leafs in trade chat and summon people down to MC to loot it before the chest despawned.
