by ChampagneNostalruse » Sat Jan 09, 2016 5:19 am

bugs on the bugtracker with video evidence of the fact being marked as invalid with no explanation as to why when the evidence is clear.

https://report.nostalrius.org/plugins/tracker/?aid=3379

there are also duplicates, marked invalid with clear evidence, with no explanation as to why

what is your agenda nostalruse?

my guess is that it's considered a retail bug and there's no point in reproducing this as the only effect would be allowing ganking as a hunter

So, you claim there is a problem with Hunters and your "evidence" is an old video that shows only a Warlock, followed by a statement about the way it "should" be - I'd mark it as invalid too.
Also, in the video you linked it does not show guards re-agro onto the Warlock after the SS until his Shadowbolt is resisted. You claim that on Nost they stay red for 30 seconds, but there is no proof.

No, I claimed there was a problem with neutral guards. The video I linked is supposed to be old, that's exactly the evidence they want / require because it's a video from blizzards original WoW which shows how the game was. The claim is that guards remain hostile to a player for much longer than they should after said player attacks another player with either a spell / auto / melee attack.

This bug is easily reproducible, just get any player who has a soulstone or a shaman with an ankh and go to Gadgetzan and attack another player, when you die soulstone up and watch yourself immediately get guard aggro again. You can even sit dead and watch how long it takes until the guards return to friendly.

In the video I linked the warlock soulstones up 1-2 seconds after he dies and you can visually see the guard turn the corner and not aggro on him until his spell makes contact with the rogue.

I claim in a follow-up comment on the bug report that when a player who attacks another player in a neutral town is not directly aggroed by a guard they should return to friendly status after normal combat time would fade. That would require more evidence which I am looking for, but the initial bug report is solid.

The only other thing I can think of that they would want is a video from 2005 / 2006 of a hunter feigning death after attacking a player in town and the guards returning to friendly immediately (I think however this shouldn't be required because feign death mimics actual death). I don't know what they require however because they just invalidated the bug report with no explanation =/.

If anything, the bigger issue here is guards dealing 2-3 times their intended damage on Nost. Video clearly shows them hitting for 300 on cloth, here they hit much harder.

ANY bug that has evidence for it should not be invalidated that is the problem here. Not just my bug or your bug but all of these bugs.

soooo..
lets ask some basic questions here.

is there a template or outline for submitting a bug report on the bug tracker? yes? ok.

is there a chance we can get a template or outline for submitting new bug reports on the bug tracker that provides accurate data that the ISVV/Developers require? yes, at http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=28132

lets see an example of an outline:

submit new artifact:

Name: guards do too much damage

General description of the bug and what is occuring: guards at EPL lights hope chapel are doing more than average amount of damage to players, 10000 dmg a hit. they also should not use Spell ID: 124132 during combat

General description of how the bug/mechanic should be acting: guards should hit for 1,000 damage and provide player ability to escape. Spell ID: 124132 should be removed from the guard's spellbook.

with that being said, can we get an example of a good bug report with accurate information on the forums so people who are herp derp can look at it so they can fill out a clear, concise bug report with sources. can we also get this stickied on the forums so we don't have 500 threads about so and so bugged and marked invalid.

I wonder how many reports are just nonsensical trolls posting complaints.

http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=28132
can we get a perfect example of what a good bug report looks like for the playerbase who are herp derp at this stuff? :geek:

Ah, cute how you are still trying Imba

I tried explaining that to smilkov some time ago but he rather puts on his tinfoil hat and accuses the staff of purposely ignoring his bug reports lol
