Efficiency of grinding?

So when I used to play vanilla as retail, I would always quest to level. I have heard some say, though, that grinding is actually faster. Is that so? And what about leveling with a partner: would it be more time-efficient to grind up and do some instances once in a while, or to quest with said partner? Or would it even be best to grind up through instances (provided that you could consistently find groups)?

Maybe if you're rested, but you can't continually do it.

u can aoe grind as mage, 3 levels a day no matter what level u at..
.. u just gotta find the spots the xiaos arent at
