PVP Server Population

by Turgon » Tue Jan 19, 2016 6:28 pm

Are there any plans to address the high server population problems on the PVP server? Shits nearly unplayable most of the day.

I know this is a free service and it will cost a lot of resources but the only solution is a second PvP server with the same timeline where people can transfer.

They have to implement a queue system, with 7k players max on one server. This will force people to transfer.

What would you even do? If they created a new realm and tried to split the population into two PvP Realms, with migrations and all, the population would still be too high.

I prefeer it this way, it's more unified, lots of guilds and people everywhere, feels like a breathing, rich server.

Also, I haven't experienced lag issues.

Just think of it this way: Retail servers have around 2-4k people on each realm.

Honestly not sure what to do at this point. Maybe block china IP. The PVE server was a huge mistake imo, they spent resources on a server nobody even plays on.

Right now the vast minority have it better than the other 12,000 of us. This is just another example of crying pussies getting what they want. This project originated with the idea of a single classic PVP server. Both of them should be PVP enabled.

Without the asian's the population on the PvP would be nearly the same as on the PvE now.

Why was the PvE-Server a mistake, the pop on peaktime is nearly 3k and in low times about 1,5k?
I think the only reason why PvE wasn't even more succesful is that most didn't wanna begin again from nothing.

I don't think the admin's should ban china ip's... that's not really a good solution and racism. Aslong as someone don't break rules he shouldn't get banned.

A second PvP-Server would be nice, but i don't know if this is an option. I didn't found an answer to this on the forum.

What are you talking about? Population feels (and is) just like it was back in the retail vanilla days. I'm having a great time on the server, and so do 2-3k other people.

I'm pretty new to this Server, but just like it was already said, it was surely no mistake if you look at the population there.

But indeed the population on the pvp realm is too high - gotta say its awesome that there are actually so many players playing vanilla wow - capping the server to like 7k and open a 2nd one with the possibility to migrate the characters would be awesome.
I don't think that improving the perfomance to hold like 12k players on that server would be enough, given the fact that everything is overcrowded and overfarmed. Leveling is a little bit of a pain right now.

AFAIK the PVE server is capped at 2.5k players (could be wrong?) and during early evenings EU time it's usually above 2k online, probably closer to cap when EU and US peak times overlap. The existence of the PVE server is not related to the issues of the PVP server at all, and those of us who play there are very satisfied. If there are any PVE server only issues that are taking up "resources", I'm sure they're negligible compared to bugs that affect all the servers.

Personally I like the high population. I've never had this much fun in WoW before, not even during retail vanilla.

No, this is just a wrong rumour, that was somehow spread on these forums. On sunday, the players online peaked at a little more than 2.8k players. IF there is indeed a cap in place (which i highly doubt at the moment to be honest), it is at 3k or higher.
