Old Hyjal is a very pretty area. You can access it from Darkwhisper Gorge. Not sure what the GM view is on this on Nostalrius. On retail there was always a rumour that you could get banned for going into Hyjal, Caverns of Time etc, but not sure if that ever happened. I once had a ticket reply while in CoT and was sweating it the whole time but nothing happened

I spent A LOT of time in Hyjal in vanilla, was never banned.

I did a lot of exploration before cataclysm removed it all. Never got banned and it's not really an offence unless you used some wall hack to get there. At most the GM will come to you and port you back.

There was a post about exploration a couple months after the server went live, basically they're ok with going to these kind of places...you can get to Hyjal without much trouble, there are vids on Youtube of how to do it.

Personally I was disappointed with the post-Cata version of Hyjal, they had some ideas with this zone that never made it into the game I would've liked to see this stuff implemented & the stories+lore the original designers had in mind from the start. Unfortunately with a game as big as WoW it takes so long to release expansions that the designers move on to other things, and older ideas tend to get scrapped...you can see some of it used in the Hyjal raid in BC though.
