How do you keep the game in borderless windowed mode?

by Drambit » Fri Jan 22, 2016 11:14 pm

I'm playing on a 144hz monitor, and despite making the necessary changes to the config.wtf file, the only way I can get the game to actually run at that framerate instead of being limited to 60hz is by putting the game in borderless windowed mode via the in game video options menu. Every time I restart the game this setting turns itself off and the game boots into full screen, how do I keep it on permanently?

Make sure your settings are saving, if you exit game with alt+F4 your setting don't save.

Log in, set your settings, go to character screen then back in game, then exit the game.

If settings didn't save, go into game again, don't change settings, open the config file and find if there's the option for borderless window set off/on, close config file and set your in-game settings to what you want, then open config file and check if it saved new settings.

mine confing file shows:
SET gxResolution "1920x1080
SET gxMaximize "1"
SET gxWindow "1"

tripple buffer/vsync on for me.

Also, the config file could be set to "Read only" (right click -> properties) and somehow not save settings after you exit game.

Last, but not least, you could delete config file and force the game to create a new one for you. Better if you just backup your wtf folder and see how game handles it after it creates new config for game/chars/addons.

/facepalm I set my file to read only when changing a different setting a long time ago and forgot. Thanks.
