Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hello everyone, I just joined Nostalrius, and so far, I've had more fun than I've ever had on retail. (Started in late BC). However, for some reason, I can't speak in world or general chat, and I have tried all of the recommended workarounds, such as leaving and rejoining, but nothing seems to work. Thank you for any help.
