Multiboxing refers to playing multiple characters simultaneously. This can either be achieved by using multiple machines to run the Game or by running multiple instances of the Game. The following rules are not meant to be exhaustive, and using multiple characters to level, farm reputation, run dungeons, do raids and/or engage in PVP is considered Multiboxing. Each case of Multiboxing will be judged individually and thoroughly. There are a few specific situations where you may have two characters in-game simultaneously, *only while both characters are in a major city*:

Transferring items between accounts;
Using professions, as long as no farming or material gathering is involved;
Crafting, enchanting, banking and/or for trading purposes that does not include the Auction House.
Portalling a second account only to and from major cities.

Playing simultaneously on both PvP and PvE realms. *Not restricted to major cities*

Everything is in the terms of use.

It's pretty clear cut. The only time you can multibox is if both players are in a major city ie: doing a transfer, or tradeskill or port

So, my GF is actually interested in joining me in playing wow now, so I'm super excited. However, I don't have her PC built yet.

In the mean time I know that I can physically boot up two windows of the game.

Question 1.) if I were to use some sort of virtual box to let her control the second seperate account (No account sharing) would that be multi boxing? Let's say, we wanted to run an instance together, since it's two people playing two accounts is that multiboxing, or is multiboxing the act of ONE person controlling two characters?

Question 2.) If the above is within ths TOS, does anyone know of a program that would allow me to hook up a second keyboard and mouse to my PC to allow two people control of two instances of a game, in this case wow.

If these are not viable, or against the TOS then I'll just have to hope that tax return comes sooner rather than later so I can get that second PC built ;)

Apprciate the clarification in advance :)

I read the whole TOS again, and I wanted some clarification on if the above statment is regarding ONE person or if it would also apply to TWO people on one machine "running multiple instances of the Game."

No need to be facetious about it.

So I remember reading about a person who complained about being baned for multiboxing, and he said the gm did a test like have the chars run in a circle which would require multiple people but he didn't have the pep on so he failed, so if you can pass the test then do so at your own risk
