If a fresh PvP server was released, what would happen?

TL;DR - Imagine a fresh, pre Dire Maul, PvP server was released without the ability to migrate. What do you think would happen with it and how would it affect the old PvP & PvE servers? Population, economy, life-span, etc.

The overcrowding of the PvP server has been a hot topic in here for quite some time now and hopefully the clustering being developed will solve that issue. I am however interested in your thoughts on what would happen if the Nostalrius team decided to release a fresh, pre Dire Maul, PvP server without the ability to migrate.
I myself play on the PvE server nowadays, not because I dislike world PvP, but because I think it has a much more reasonable amount of players, currently peaking at about 3k at times. To me it's a much more enjoyable vanilla experience with a better sense of community. The PvP server with it's huge number of players feels more anonymous in a way.
Also, I'm a huge fan of fresh servers. I love the leveling race and having lots of players around your level for the lowbie dungeons and random elite quests and also the fresh economy. In my opinion this game is the most fun during the first 2-3 months of a fresh server with lots of competition going on.
What I'm wondering though is what you think would happen to the population of the old PvP and PvE servers if this became reality. For example, I think I would have started playing on this fresh PvP server and stopped playing on PvE. Do you think big guilds from PvP would reroll to get away from the lag and to have the chance of getting some server firsts?
Would it be a good move for the Nostalrius project as a whole?
EDIT to clarify: Same timeline as the other servers, not stuck at pre-DM patch.

Not going to happen due to cost. However if it were to happen the original PvP server's growth would subside a bit and a small playerbase similar to the PvE server would form on the new server.
Everyone is already established on the new server, and unless free transfers were offered and content was the same only then would the population significantly subside. However this will never happen.

I don't believe any big guilds would reroll on this new server as their time investment is far to much in the woodwork to once again have to wait 1½ years until AQ and Naxx possibly is released. Had the server had a quicker progression phase however as to their original timeline, then yes I believe some had rerolled from the current phase of Nostalrius PvP.
Edit: As to if it would be a good move for the Nostalrius project: If the community funds it 100% then surely it wouldn't be bad, although the capabilities of the team would once again need to be expanded on. For the private server scene I wouldn't mind seeing yet another successful server, makes for a good change instead of watching projects fail and shut down within 2-4 months.

I have a level 60, and 4 level 30-50s. I would 100% reroll on a new PvP server since that would mean no lag, and normal leveling. I realized that wpvp was special and fun because it wasn't always in your face. Back then, you would level for a bit then maybe you would see an alliance and gank him or something, blah blah. Now I just see allys everywhere, 60s attacking me, like cmon its not fun anymore. Even if I enjoyed the huge population, which sometimes I do, there is still the obnoxious lag I don't know how longer I can keep up. I've been dueling on the PTR, and WOW it is a huge difference. You know how shamans grounding totem has a weird delay on the PvP server? on PTR its instant. Everything works properly, like damn. I would love to start over a shaman again too, I love leveling anyways. So, a new pvp server without transfers would be heaven haha. I have a feeling lot's of people would do it too just to have a fresh start, almost like a new "race". Aparently its too costly... I think thats just an excuse because they opened the pve server and they can just open donations for it really... I am sure lot's of people want it.

They have already said multiple times, a second PvP server will not happen.
I'm sure the path has been cleared of major bugs though, so if another fresh server were to roll around it would be a smoother experience...BUT another server on its own timeline would draw resources, manpower, time, energy & players away from existing projects. Not to mention, it's too soon after the other servers, so most people have already done that content over the last year.

Unlike the poster above me, I bothered to read the OP.
About 20 to 25% of the current PvE server would re roll there, as I am making a guess that the number of folks that rolled there that would prefer a PvP server but couldn't stand the issues of the original PvP server 'made do' with where they are now. A freshly launched alternative would have them flock away.
A simply tremendous number of people that play on the current original PvP server that don't have a large attachment to their current account (read, character levels sub 60) would probably re roll in a heartbeat. The current server has a LOT of people that fit into that category.
So, in my humble opinion a fresh server would be substantially more successful than the current PvE server. Hands down. No point in speculating though since it's not going to happen.

nothing would happen. 1.12 patch is like 10 patches too far, people will rush 60 then grind 14 in bgs, no world pvp will happen again. #1 mistake nost had was bgs and honor system at release.

I've already made atleast 2 threads about this and they both got Locked within a day.
Appearantly they don't want to open a new PvP server for whatever reason.
They did say, that if the "problems" keep occuring after they've released that techincal fix AND TBC realm, they might look into this.
In other words, don't hope for it like I have.
Edit: What would happen is a lot of people would switch to the new PvP realm.
About 1/4th of the PvE realm would go, and about 1/4th of the current PvP realm.
Im basing this purely on the info Ive personally gathered from the community over the past months.
And I agree it would be fucking awesome, I'd roll there the second it launches with a bunch of family and friends, and it would be a really good move on Nosts part since so many people hate the overcrowded pvp realm.
