Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

(I would like to confirm that this post does not require of Nostalrius to review the case and is not by any way meant to be aggressive or accusing anyone of wrongdoing I am simply seeking guidance of my fellow players and hope my Freedome of speach to be protected here Thank you)

Recently i was banned for supposedly buying gold viewtopic.php?f=65&t=38196
And the thread got locked and i know that i will not get my account back probably so i am here not to bash or be aggressive or anything of that but to learn and confirm if it's my fault for the ban

Here how it all started : I got mail box at very late time of the day and checked it to be gold up to 300g which was surprising for me and so I mentioned it in guild and generally thought i am being ''lucky'' ( proven to be unlucky atm) so i do say that i am not planning to spend the money and will return it to it's rightful owner went as far to add the guy name on paper ( Treena ) and talked about it on the first minute of getting the gold and then a few days later that i am still intending to return the gold so time passes i think over a week and i still have the gold with the intention of returning it.

What happens : I play yesterday morning and have fun as usually getting rekt and rek some hordies in Blasted lands and my little cousin comes i go on to play PS4 with him and after he goes him i try to log in only to have my account banned I appealed to the Nostalrius staff and they responded ( Thank you for that ) but the response ofc wasn't what i hoped for and got told ''Even if it's true you shouldn't accept gold from suspicious source ''.

Now to my problem with this ( again this is just somewhat of a poll to see the opinion of fellow nostalrius players And hope for the staff to not remove it ) : The staff assumed i bought the gold and i did not get answer if they checked the character chat history now That being said i am confident a small check of my chat history would proof that i have not violated the ToU at all and to add salt to injury I did not know if my case were reviewed or not as i am new to forums and such so bear with me please but There is evidence supporting my case the fact that i am very new to the server and had no reason to buy the gold as i already got my mount a tad late due to needing gold ( ironically ) now the true problem is that any review of my chat history will prove i have not bought the gold and as surprised as anyone receiving that amount on the other hand which is more of a logical point of view why would someone buy gold that he/she doesn't need the gold has been with me for a while have not been spent.

Edit : (Would like to mention the ToU didn't speak of any suspicious resources but only stated that a ban will only happen if an exchange of real life money has been done for in-game currency or the other way around
Now that means if a chinese gold seller come to me and send me / trade 10k gold i should accept that even if i know he is a gold seller as i did not violate the ToU an exchange of real life money never toke place)

Thank everyone for reading i know the text wall is huge in this one but bear with me and give me your take on this matter. ( keep in mind the gold has not been touched and has been stated to be returned to it's rightful owner who never came online and evidence supporting this is in the game chat + log )

Hello lection the guy never came online for me to give it to him the gold has not been touched by anyway my character still has 322+g never did i spend any of his gold.

He mailed it to you, why not mail it back? You had his name obviously.

True and very good point , I simply didn't think of it is all i can say and did not actually think of sending back til now that you pointed it out i don't know if it's just me being new player or stupid but ill go with the latter at this point.

I got banned as well for "buying gold " but last week I was lucky with drops I got Mage food time drop for me which I sold for a decent price plus couple righteous orbs I won from that run than couple days later I won Krol blade in a greed roll

I would have just returned the mail back to sender if it was suspicious.

It doesn't matter what you say in your chat logs. I could go buy gold, have it mailed to me and then say to my guildies, "ROFL, some idiot accidentally mailed me gold!!"

That's not a legit defence. Sorry, m'man. Touch dirty gold, whether bought or not, is a no no.

To be honest you cannot expect new players to know what is suspicious gold is i did read the Tou before starting my character and no mention of such thing was there , and it wasn't just one time that i talked about the issue with guildies but couple at least they could just remove the gold if they want.

They really need to update their ToU as i thought i did not do anything wrong but yet got punished probably to make an example as it seem the case with some bans on these forums.

Nice to know i can ban people i dont like just by sending them 300g from a throwaway account.

It is a legitimate way to ban people i guess ( They didn't even bother to review my case as well because ''busy')
