Yes, the system can detect modified files and auto-ban you for 'hacking', even if the modification was harmless.

Modifying your game client is strictly forbidden... read the ToS.

If you are talking about changing skins via .mpq files, you can do that as there is no way they can actually detect and enforce it, also it's completely harmless.

Well Ive been hanging on the support forums a lot and someone got banned for this (custom models) just 2 days ago so... make your own choice

No. Else people would be able to mod lotus / rocks /even players in pvp whatever to a more visible skin and have unfair advantage over other people

They are lying.

Modifying MPQ files and / or the client is strictly forbidden as per our Terms of Use and the use of these things will trigger an automatic ban.
