@Oceanic players

If any oceanic players are looking for somewhere to go, the Australian server is offering transfers while nost servers are still up so if you want to play make sure you get your nostalrius character copied over before the servers go down :)

243vanilla.tk is the server, Aussie hosted too :] Just hop on and get in contact with a GM if you need your character copied. Looking forward to seeing you guys!

Bump.

Can vouch for Vanilla 243. I'm originally from Nostalrius but couldn't handle the ping these days, so made the switch here back in January. It's great playing with 35 ping for once!

The reason for the low pop is well... a) Nostalrius had everyone, and b) we are Oceanic-based, not near as many people as EU/US have to fill servers. Fellow Oceanic players - help us boost the population. Get some consistent raiding going on both sides, as well as some organised PVP.

Vanilla 243 is super stable - and beautifully done. The idea is to combine TBC and Vanilla into one game, and it's already well on its way to achieving that goal, but still in early days - current progression is still at MC.

Come and have a look, I ran into only two quest issues (of which have now been fixed) on my journey to 60.

Already had quite a lot of interest today and yesterday about getting characters transferred :)

fuckblizzard, Hard to really agree on anything you said. I honestly haven't encountered many bugs at all. Admin is really active too so stuff gets fixed fast if you report it. Not here to argue though, just getting he word out that theres a low-latency server for Oceanic players that suffered through 300+ ms for so long

Never played a vanilla with TBC client. For sure this is not exactly what diehard vanilla fans look for.
However, being a full-time resto druid in vanilla, it was a really nice thing to be able to tank in instances in TBC and being an off-tank for a Karazhan.

So to sum up:
243vanilla.tk provides:

- PvE server !!!
- x1 exp rate
- no cash shop
- leveling 1-60
- patch 2.4.3 - so changes to itemization, quests and class balance
- alliance shamans - Draenei and horde paladins - Blood Elves
- Outlands perma-closed - so only old faithful Azeroth

Not a bad thing I would say, just I hope there can be 1k players at least.

Definitely gonna try - downloading game client as we speak.

So - 243vanilla - you will have +2 players (me and wife - yup - a RL girl is going to play vanilla wow :-) )

Approaching 500 active players soon and almost 200 60's, GM's have been helping people transfer their nost toons all of today and yesterday. Even if you aren't sure about playing, consider getting your nost toon copied over before Sunday just incase!

Oh and to add... 2.4.3 also brings arenas into the mix.
As mentioned above, the server is pretty rock solid stable with few bugs, fewer broken quests.
Escort quests work perfectly etc and if you do happen to find something awry all that is needed is to be reported and it's usually rectified asap if not on the spot. More time consuming fixes are usually when it's a core fix (complete mess by default)
So for those seeking a new realm to call home we welcome you to come try the place out whether you are oceanic based or not, all are invited to play.

I'm EU based and just found the concept for this server really interest. I've always liked TBC much better than Vanilla and as a result never quite enjoyed vanilla raiding (and especially PvP) as much as in TBC.

This server combines the two beautifully. World scripts are great so far from what I can tell (lots of effort put into them) and the next step is fixing up class bugs and mechanics. Given this was started out with cMangos (same as Nostalrius TBC would be) there are some bugs to fix, but the dev seems determined.
