Blizzard has the wrong persons leading the WoW Production?

I've open my game and start seeing the wow credits and notice that Mark Kern (Team Lead) last release was TBC and J. Allen Brack (Producer) joins Blizzard in WRATH and he changes to Producer Director in Cataclysm.

Maybe I am doing a mistake on my evaluation, because in this period Blizzard has changed to Activision-Blizzard.

But, we know that decisions are made by people, so... Could J. Allen Brack be the problem for so many wrong decisions in retail version of the game? WoW was never successful with his decisions!

You can check his linkedin profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/j-allen-brack-27a2582

Let him be Vice President, but please... STOP BREAKING THE GAME PILLARS OF WORLD OF WARCRAFT!

Note: In my opinion, J. Allen Brack doesn't understand the pillars of World of Warcraft game development. In this direction, maybe one day, I will see a guild with players of both factions (Horde and Aliance).

What I understand by WORLD OF WARCRAFT GAME PILLARS:

  • Only able to play one faction (Horde/Aliance) in each realm
  • Your caracter born with a class/race , if you need to change class/race, then is another character (you need to born again)
  • Horde and Aliance can't be friends (Pandaren was a mistake)
  • Players must be rewarded by the amount of effort they put on characters and expansions must comply with this premise (Hero classes and Boosts to 100 are wrong)
  • Just like a real world, you need to learn and spend time to have more ways of combat and be a better character (Quick leveling is a mistake)
  • It's important to give the feel of a real world (weather removal was a mistake)
  • Best players should have better looking because they have better gear (Transmogrification is a mistake)
  • After joining a PvP Realm, when you see a player of oposite faction you can attack him (Cross-Realms between PvE and PvP is a mistake)
  • Fly Mounts is not for PvP Realms
  • Each expansion should be treated as independent releases, which should not interfere with the previous expansions

Blizzard says they are self-directed and do not answer to Activision, but their actions suggest there has been more effort to boost their income with the direction of the game design at the expense of a quality game experience.

Looks like J. Allen Brack is Activision's overseer and it is not Mike Morhaime who take final decisions. I think he should consider with guys from Activison.

We do not care.

They have already changed WoW so much that it is no longer possible to fix it.

At this point, it is completely irrelevant if Brack, Ghostcrawler, Chilton or all of them were responsible for destroying the game.

We have reached the stage in the game's evolution that such concerns only should interest MMORG historians.

Agreed, sadly. I even tried the beta, yes I got a beta invite, and my honest opinion of it was not good. It doesn't feel right, it felt like they really didn't put a lot of effort into the expansion. Which is probably why they want to stay with the yearly expansion idea. Not to mention the fact how they took a ton of ideas from Diablo 3 that it doesn't feel like a Warcraft game anymore.

How can the expansion feel like the World of Warcraft we knew if your copying main features from Diablo 3? For example; there is RNG legendary drops, treasure goblins (really Blizzard? lol), endless challenge mode dungeons which is like rifts now from Diablo. What Blizzard should have done is copy game style ideas from the older versions of World of Warcraft not Diablo in my opinion. One major example; Prerequisite quests like the BC days...what happen to that? That was interesting idea, yeah it took time but at least you made it interesting. Group elite quests was also interesting. I can see how that was annoying in some way but it felt very rewarding when the quests were completed, not to forget that sometimes I made some new friends by doing those quests.

The expansion is just a major disappointment in my opinion and its sad. Like what Arx said as well, its too late. It doesn't matter who runs it now. I just want to play WoW how I remember it from the vanilla/BC era, and retail WoW at the moment is not the way to go.

I agree with you guys.

I played retail way too long, since Dragonsoul I hated it but still played because there was no other option for me.
Once I discovered Feenix with its Emerald Dream I felt joy like I never did since the end of BC.

What ever they do, WoW can't change that drastically that I enjoy it as much as in vanilla and Bc again. They can't erase all these expansions and "features" they added.
The only real option for me is to create real legacy realms like nostalrius for Vanilla, Bc and Wotlk or one big server that starts at Vanilla.

But it would be delusional to hope this could happen within the next 2 years or less. Blizzcon will disappoint all those who hope for a vanilla server in the near future. The only thing I expect them to mention is either their pristine shit or some vague statement regarding legacy realms in the future but still no real yes or no.

The best outcome of Blizzcon would be something like "We decided to do legacy realms in the future" which then takes like 2-4 additional years.

Until then other private servers are my best bet, most don't vary that much from real Vanilla so it's ok for me.

Indeed, actions speaks louder than words :!:

LOL, so they ran out of ideas and just copied concepts from D3? how sad, glad im not paying them anymore. But like above posters have already said, the game itself is beyond saving, thats why legacy is BADLY needed.

They ran out of ideas 4 expansions ago, wake up. You wanna give Legacy future into those same hands so where is hope in that.
