Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

One of the big causes of Nost getting shut down was how often people went to the retail game and waxed on about how better vanilla was.

Can we not all go to the forums and talk about how Nost is coming back and how it'll be so glorious? I see people on retail all the time praising and in tears about how we're getting our characters back.

All you're doing is setting up any new big servers for failure. Seriously. Don't be an idiot please.

I get that we hate retail. Being antagonistic is not going to make them give us what we want.

To be honest, you sound like a digital Don Quixote tilting at windmills.

Private servers get shut down every year, tons of which you don't even know about and only had like a peak-hour population of 20 people. Nostalrius was just part of routine house cleaning.

You know what the first rule of fight club is right?

A company as big as Activision Blizzard throws out C&D every single day. Nostalrius got targeted because of Blizzards need to protect their IP and they probably even WAITED longer than they should have due to all the spam on forums. Nost took their server down because they wanted to fight the battle of legacy servers and they got played by the PR team. Spam all you want, the C&D has already been sent once, it's going to come again to the new host.

I really would agree with this, but not for the reasons listed. It wont effect the server's ability to be shut down, but it would be really nice if this community could stop being so toxic.
I've never seen such blind hatred towards others for absolutely no reason.
Some guy told me I should be beat to death with a brick because I enjoy Legion, despite also loving Classic.

That is just ridiculous. I don't understand why it has to be a war here. People who play and enjoy other Blizzard games didn't take down Nost. Send those comments to Blizzard if you are so childish that you have to get it out of your system.
Shit like that makes me not want to play on either version of WoW and makes me really scared what Elysium launching is going to do to the MMO community in general.
